Anchorage tests at Shimizu

Shimizu Corporation, Japan has carried out a number of investigations on CRC at their Institute of Technology. One of these investigations - handled by Dr. Shioya and Dr. Kurita - dealt with pull-out tests on rebars with very short embedment length. All the bars had an embedment length of 3 times the bar diameter and in the tests a 51 mm diameter bar actually was loaded to failure before pull-out. The type of CRC and the fibre content was varied in the tests, where bond strengths higher than 80 MPa were measured in a few cases. 

Currently research on CRC is carried out in Japan by Professor Hitaka Koto at the University of Kyoto.
