Manhole covers

The durability and high strength of CRC is utilised in manhole covers. The covers which have a diameter of 70 cm weigh less than 50 kg, but they are able to sustain loads of more than 25 tons.
 

The covers cost more than conventional concrete covers, but they are stronger and weigh less. Compared to cast iron covers they weigh more but cost less. As the covers are also more durable against chemical attack, they are a niche product with a considerable market potential.
