In renovating Friskohuset in Århus existing beams have been made longer using CRC concrete.
After cutting away existing structures it was revealed that some of the existing beams were 35 cm too short for the new supporting structures. The solution for this was using CRC JointCast to make the beams longer.
The beam ends had protruding reinforcement, so new reinforcement was lapped with these rebars. The bond properties of CRC made it possible to use a relatively short lap length, corresponding to 1/3 of the lap length that would have been necessary for conventional concrete.
Skanska Danmark A/S was the contractor on the job and Carl Bro as were advisors.
